APPLY DROP SETS
In case, you’ve been wondering what drop sets are, and why they’re important, here it is in a nutshell. You apply drop sets when you immediately start lifting much lighter weights after you reach the so-called post-exercise failure phase described in the previous point. This is something you should use for the last series of your current exercise.
NO REST SUPER SET REPETITIONS
Applying super set repetitions means that you’re doing two exercises with no pause in between. You don’t have to worry, if you’re planning to hit two same group of muscles in this way.
DO ASSISTED REPS
This is a tricky one, so you have to be careful about it. Why? Well, you can easily end up building your ego rather than your muscles, if you can’t exercise without a pair of helping hands. One of the common situation you can see two guys are helping each other in a gym is when they’re doing a bench press. So, make sure you call for help only for the last few repetitions.
This is something similar you’ve already done with the super sets. Here’s a simple example. You did four sets with 12 repetitions. Now, do 4 sets with 10 or you can try 3 sets with 8 reps. Don’t worry about your performance. You can increase the weight to get the right feeling in your muscles.
PLAY WITH YOUR VARIABLES
You’ve already done a lot with the previous six steps. Yet, there’s still one step left. There are so many things you can do to change your current exercise variables. You can change the position of your hands closer or wider, for instance. You’re free to position your feet in the same way.
These tips can do a lot by helping you literally smash through all obstacles of your training program. It’s pretty much obvious – you don’t have to apply each of these elements at once. In addition, you don’t have to change them every week.
